Google is introducing a new productivity app called Google Vids, which functions as a video editor and is positioned as a major pillar of Google Workspace. The interface resembles Google Slides but with a video timeline instead, allowing users to create training materials or product demos with features such as real-time collaboration and comments. While pitched as an AI-powered video editor, the demo did not showcase many generative AI features, mainly focusing on slideshows and stock media. Google Vids is set to be released for testing in June.
