Chinese carmakers are set to begin trials of level three autonomous driving, excluding Tesla due to its reliance on HD mapping. The Ministry of Industry and Information Technology approved nine brands for public tests in China, aimed at bringing self-driving cars forward while monitoring their safety and compliance with regulations.
